New Artwork

New works by Tracy Hennessy

I used to live in a wonderful Seattle neighborhood called Wallingford. There were several favorite routes I’d take for my exercise walks and this one street was a favorite because every time I passed this certain house, I would see this goofy Boxer dog sitting on top of the detached ivy covered garage. It’s as if he was keeping watch over his “kingdom”. He didn’t bark or get excited, just kept his composure in such a stern and regal way. In creating this monotype, I tried a new technique of using several “color drops” to achieve the rich layered effects. I had wanted to paint this dog for a very long time, so I enjoyed making a second image with different colors and markings, but coming up with the “twin” brother to Hans, who is Franz!

Story:
Hans the Boxer hangs out on the garage rooftop overseeing the daily neighborhood activity. His latest concern is the family of baby possums that showed up in the Johnson’s front yard. He will have to get his twin, Franz, in on this investigation.

Franz has a Blue Collar

Story:
Franz got a call from Hans, his twin brother boxer the other day, asking for help with the Johnson’s baby possum yard epidemic. Franz knows you just have to relocate them across the freeway to the Rose City golf course. And all will be normal again.
